Netflix Casts Spot-On Star for Mr. 2 in One Piece Third Season
Baroque Works is set to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t take place until the next season, and a beloved, popular member has now been chosen.
The platform declared this week that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Bon Clay. The role has the ability to morph into an perfect replica of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their dominant hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a version of that figure reimagined as gender non-binary, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the live-action show, differing from the original manga and animated series.
This performer will work alongside a number of new cast members who will portray Baroque Works to life, including chief the main antagonist, brought to life by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and a familiar face, who will appear as the lineup as the monarch of Alabasta.
Even though the role is a major member of the group, the character won’t appear until One Piece the third season. With the second season likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this signals a notable change in the timing of their first appearance, one that could suggest more adjustments to the narrative framework.
Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the character. In addition to their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for creating and performing in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll add to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.
