Beloved Star Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
US performer Pat Finn, who featured in popular programs including Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died aged 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing treatment for cancer since 2022, per news outlets.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - only friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones shared in a announcement.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
An Extensive TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, such as:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"He guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils during his career and it would be difficult to find a person who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he posted on social media.
Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
